A statement from the National Institute of Statistics and Census reads:
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November compared to October recorded a monthly rise of 0.1 percent for both the National Urban area and the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and Other Urban areas. Compared with November 2011, there was an increase of 4.5 percent in the National Urban area, 4.3 percent in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and 5.1 percent in other urban areas. So far this year, the National Urban CPI showed a cumulative variation of 4.3 percent.
The divisions that make up the National Urban CPI in November, compared with October 2012, which reflected increases were:
-Food and beverages 1.0 percent, caused by a rise in the price of vegetables;
-Housing, water, electricity and gas, 0.6 percent, due to a rise in the price of rental fees;
-Clothing and footwear, 0.4 percent due to a rise in the price of men's pants;
-Health 0.2 percent, due to increases in the price of glasses;
-Furniture, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house;
In March the consumer price index rose by 0.4% from February, with the Health, Transport and Food and Beverage segments increasing the most.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March compared to February 2014 showed an increase of 0.4 percent in the National Urban area, 0.3 percent for the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and 0.6 percent in the Other Urban areas. Compared with March 2013, an increase of 3.3 percent in both the National Urban and the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and 3.7 percent in the Other Urban was observed. So far this year, the National Urban CPI showed a cumulative increase of 1.1 percent.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August compared to July, 2013, showed an increase of 0.3%.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August compared with July 2013, increased by 0.3% in National Urban, for the districts of Panama and San Miguelito it was 0.2% and for Other Urban Areas 0.4%.
The consumer price index (CPI) for August grew by 6.1% compared to the same month last year.

The variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August compared to July 2012 showed an increase of 0.5 percent in the National Urban area, for the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and 0.6 percent, and in other urban areas 0.3 percent.
