Panama: Prices of Building Materials in March 2014

Between March 2013 and March 2014 the price of materials such as cement and bricks increased by 6.7% and 4.1%, respectively.

From a statement issued by the Comptroller General of the Republic of Panama:

Retail Prices Indices of the Main Construction Materials (IPMC), available in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito, compiled until January 2014, showed the following behaviors:

Inter Monthly variation:

Price Index (PI) for polarized electrical outlets grew by 1.4 percent in June 2014 compared to May of this year. Conversely, the price index for corrugated galvanized Zinc No. 26 decreased by 6.0 percent. Also showing decreases were clay blocks and ½ " steel rods of 2.4 and 1.6 percent, respectively. In addition the PI of gray cement decreased 0.3 percent. The PI of other investigated materials maintained the same level recorded in May.

Construction in Panama: Prices up to February 2020

During the second month of the year in the country, the price of the sand yard grew 4% compared to the same month in 2018, and the No. 4 stroller foot fell by 12%.

From the General Comptroller of the Republic's report:

The accumulated average behavior of January - February 2020, regarding the same period in 2019, showed increases in the Price Indexes (PI) of the Sand Yard and the Stone Yard No.

Construction Materials: Prices up to May 2019

June 2019

In the fifth month of the year, the price of the sand yard in Panama increased 3% over April 2018, and the 10-foot stretch of PVC plastic pipe decreased 2%.

The accumulated average from January to May 2019, compared to the same period of 2018, showed increases in the Indexes of the unit of the current collector for polarized box in 12.7%, that of the foot of the Carriola N°4 in 7.2% and that of the foot of Zinc N°26 galvanized corrugated in 4.6%, reported the General Comptroller of the Republic.

Construction Materials: Prices are up 14%

May 2019

The costs of wood and roofs, and metals and derivatives, explained during the third month of the year the 14% year-on-year increase in the prices of construction materials in Nicaragua.

The results show that the Index of Prices of Construction Materials (IPMC) registered a 13.8% year-on-year growth with respect to March of the previous year (9.6% in February 2019 and 8.6% in March 2018), informed the Central Bank of Nicaragua.
