Panama Presents FITUR 2013

The Tourism Authority has destined $2.2 million to promote the country in the next edition of FITUR, from January 30 to February 3, in Madrid, Spain.

Looking to attract tourists from the European market, the Panamanian will be made up of fifteen companies representatives from the hospitality sector, tour operators, travel agencies and the airline Copa.

"Solomon Shamah, general manager of the ATP, said that they will be promoting: tourist insurance, ethnicities, the beaches, the 'Stop Over' (which allows Copa passengers in transit to stay in Panama), the new Amador Convention Center, the Gehry Museum, expansion of the Panama Canal; destinations like Bocas del Toro, Chiriqui, Pedasi, El Valle and flights from Europe, KLM and Iberia.

FITUR involves about 9.506 entrepreneurs from 167 countries. About 100,000 visitors are expected as well as 6,313 journalists from 54 countries", reports

Panama promoted as tourist destination in Paris

Panama will participate in the international Top Resa fair which will be held in Paris from September 16 to 19.

In order to create the most impact during the campaign, "for the first time we will place ads on the buses that run throughout Paris, creating add value for the promotion that is already in progress in European magazines and newspapers," Carl-Fredrik Nordström, sub-administrator of the Panama Tourism Authority.
