Panama: Prequalification for Designing Technical Institute Declared Void

The verification commission has determined that none of the companies presented for the design of Specialized Technical Institute met the minimum requirements for the tender.

None of the four companies that participated in the process of prequalification for Architectural Design of Specialized Higher Technical Institute met the requirements established in the tender, which was subsequently annulled by the Ministry of Public Works.

Prensa.com reports that "... According to the verification commission, which was responsible for analyzing the bids presented by the four companies that participated in the event on February 27, it was determined that none of the proposals met the minimum requirements. The Specialized Higher Technical Institute is a project of the Executive and the first to be built in Tocumen. "

The evaluation committee has completed a review of the nine proposals submitted by the prequalified companies for the design and construction project for Metro Line 3.

From a statement issued by Metro de Panama:

The government has announced plans to build a 7 thousand square meter new site in Cartago for the National Learning Institute.

This new site will be located in downtown Cartago, and will have an infrastructure of 7,000 square meters with an administrative building for the Regional Office two language laboratories, eight electromechanical laboratories, four computer laboratories, eight multipurpose classrooms with modern and innovative technology, and food and nutrition laboratories. These facilities are projected to receive 750 students every day at different times.

The Ministry of Public Works in Panama is inviting domestic and foreign enterprises to participate in the prequalification process for Architectural Design of the First Specialized Higher Technical Institute.

Through this prequalification process, Companies, Firms or groups (consortia or Accidental Associations), which qualify will be selected for the participation in the Best Value Public Tender for Architectural Design of the First Higher Specialized Technical Institute (ITSE by its initials in Spanish), to be built in the Township of Tocumen, Panama District, Province of Panama.

The government has authorized a process for pre-qualifying bidders for the architectural design of first Specialized Superior Technical Institute, to be built in Tocumen.

From a statement issued by the Government of Panama:

The Cabinet approved a resolution which agrees that the architectural design of the First Superior Specialized Technical Institute in Panama (ITSE), located in Tocumen, be subject to a process for Prequalifying bidders prior to the public meeting, and defines the rules for its execution.
