Panama: Invitations to Tender for $2 Million Water Mains

Panama's Aqueduct and Sewers Institute (IDAAN) invites bids for the design and construction of a network of water pipes in La Chorrera.

IDAAN has published the bid documents for the contract, which includes the design and construction of a 4km pipeline in La Chorrera, just west of the Panamanian capital.

There will be a preliminary review meeting on 17 August and proposals must be received by 2 September.

An agreement has been made to transfer resources to the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems in order to carry out water treatment works, buy equipment and renovate wells.

The new budget will be used to buy pumps to renovate wells, "... dredging rivers, purchase of equipment and chemicals needed to purify the raw water, well renovations and employment of at least 150 employees in key positions."

IDAAN Announces $6 Million Tender for Water Transportation

The Panamanian Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers has issued a tender for the transportation and supply of water by tankers.

The contract includes the supply of water in the areas of Tocumen and Pacora, San Miguelito, Chorrera, Arraijan, Chilibre, Chepo and Tanara, between May 2012 and April 2013.

Panama Invites Bids for Water Tank Trucks

The $7.87 million project comprises transportation and distribution of drinkable water using tank trunks.

With this public bidding process, Panama's water authority (Idaan) will double the number of water tank trucks in the country.

The contract will cover "Tocumen, Pacora, San Miguelito, La Chorrera, Arraiján, Chilibre, Chepo and Tanara. Bids must be submitted on January 7th", reported Prensa.com.
