Panama: Highway Arraiján-La Chorrera

The Ministry of Public Works gave the order to proceed to Transcaribe Trading, company who won the contract for $ 152.6 million.

The highway will suffer a comprehensive maintenance and will be widened to six lanes. The project also includes widening current bridges, design and construction as well as an interchange at the underpass connecting Residencial Vista Alegre and Residencial El Tecal.

The project will cost $ 152.6 million and the estimated execution time of construction is 910 calendar days.

The consortia Centralvías Bocas del Toro, Ininco, TRANSCARIBE Trading, and Asociación Accidental C&T Construye are the construction firms who submitted bids to design and build the Almirante highway.

The Public Works Ministry held a tender for best value entitled " Design and Construction of the Almirante – Changuinola highway, (former train route) and the roads: Valle Risco - Punta Peña de Risco, Valle Risco - Oriente Riscó - Nance Risco, with a length of approximately 35.6 kilometers, in the Bocas del Toro province.

Ten construction companies and nine service companies attended the pre tender meeting for establishing the specifications for the expansion to four lanes of the Inter American Highway from Veraguas to Viguí. reports: "This is the first of five sections that the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is putting out to tender in order to complete the widening to four lanes of the highway between David and Santiago".

The Panamanian company presented the lowest offer in the competitive bid with two other construction companies, Meco and Urbana.

Three companies submitted bids for designing and executing the project to widen this Panamanian highway.

The bid from Transcaribe Trading S.A. was priced at $149.8 million, the one by Constructora Meco at $156.27 million, while Constructora Urbana S.A. proposed $158.9 million.
