Panama: Five Bids for Road Projects for $43 million

Five companies submitted bids in the tender for the 'Pave Your City' project, which includes road renovation works in the provinces of Panama and Panama West.

The Companies Professional Engineering Consultants SA (COPISA) Consortium Transeq - Star; TRANSCARIBE Trading, SA, Constructora Meco and Excavaciones del Istmo presented their proposals in the tender for the project "Pave Your City", which consists of repair work, asphalt patching, maintenance, cleaning and reconstruction of curbs, construction of storm drains, laying asphalt binders, replacement and construction of concrete pavement slabs, cleaning and pipe laying, reconstruction of sidewalks and signage, among other things.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works:

During the opening of envelopes, the MOP announced the reference price per line, for No. 1 line (DM Metrovial 1) the sum of B / 9,965,384.27. In this event the company Meco bid the sum of B / 10,666,611.24. This division comprises of the villages of Bella Vista, Betania, Juan Diaz, Lefevre Park, Pueblo Nuevo, Rio Abajo and San Francisco.

Participating companies were Constructora MECO, Consultores Profesionales de Ingeniería (COPISA), Transeq, Centro Equipo and Transcaribe Trending.

Twenty three companies have expressed interest in participating in the tender to build the El Guabal - Luis Rio - Calovébora highway in the province of Veraguas.

$150 Million Highway Contract Awarded in Panama

Transcaribe Trading S.A. will be responsible for widening the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway to six lanes.

The Panamanian company presented the lowest offer in the competitive bid with two other construction companies, Meco and Urbana.
