Panama: Construction Projects up to March 2017

Water and sanitation works, mixed use towers, and a recreational park are some of the projects planned for the coming months in Panama.

Data from the interactive platform "Construction in Central America", complied by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes a list of the public and private projects for which Environmental Impact Study (EIA) were submitted to the Panamanian Ministry of the Environment in March 2017.

Details of some projects:

Instituto De Acueductos y Alcantarillados Nacionales submitted an EIA to build a new raw water intake in the district of Pinogana in the province of Darién, installing adduction piping from the intake to the drinking water treatment plant, a new 1.5 MGD drinking water treatment plant, 3 1 MG storage tanks at the site of alto de Piedra Candela, 10,000 gal in La Lomita and 25,000 gal in Arimae respectively. The project is called "Mejoras y ampliación de la planta potabilizadora de Villa Darién" and according to the document the amount to be invested is $32.8 million.

Corporación Da Vinci, S.A. submitted an EIA to build, in the district and province of Panama, two towers for apartments and commercial use, each tower has 33 levels and 186 apartments, they will have a social area that includes, a children's swimming pool, swimming pool for adults, Jacuzzi, bar, party room, mini-basketball court, multipurpose court, children's play area, an entrance hall to the building, indoor parking, security guard, it also includes the construction of 15 commercial premises with their respective parking lots. The project is called "PH Metro Point" and according to the study the investment amount is $30 million.

The Municipality of David submitted an EIA to develop, in David, Chiriquí province in an area of approximately 30 hectares, a park that will have a main and back entrance, jogging track, cycle path, central boulevard, secondary streets, administration building, pedestrian bridges, food zone, flag pole, children's playground, amphitheater, sports area and parking lots. The project is called "Parque Metropolitano de David" and according to the document the investment amount is $15 million.
