Panama: Colón Port Starts Operations

The terminal built by the concessionaire Minera Panama, in Punta Rincon, will initially be used for unloading construction materials for the Cobre Panama project.

The port required an investment of $54 million and was built entirely by Minera Panama, concessionaire of the Cobre Panama project , in the district of Donoso, Colon Province.

Cobre Panama is in the construction phase to turn the mine into the world's largest copper producer, with an investment of $6.4 billion and has an expected life of 34 years. "

Land Concession Granted to Minera Panama

According to Resolution No. 130, published in the Official Gazette 27132, Minera Panama is authorized to construct a port in the district of Donoso, where from 2016 it will load copper concentrate which has been extracted from its mining concession located in the same district.
