Panama: Bunker Sales Up 38%

In the first nine months of the year, 2.8 million barrels of marine fuel were sold, 38% more than was sold in the same period in 2016.

According to figures from the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), the sale of marine fuel during the first three quarters of 2017 increased by 38% in year-on-year terms, rising from 2 million barrels between January and September 2016 to 2.8 million barrels in the same period in 2017.

During the first nine months of 2017, average monthly sales of 315 thousand barrels of marine fuel were registered, a figure that exceeds the 228 thousand barrels that were dispatched on average from January to September 2016.

In the first six month of 2010, a total of 2,233 ships were attended to, transporting 1,446 000 metric tonnes of oil and marine diesel.

In the same period in 2011 the total number of vessels was 2,458 and they transported 1,700,000 metric tons.
