Panama: Annual Inflation 1% in July 2015

In July, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.1% accumulating in the first half of the year inflation of 1.4%.

From a statement by the Comptroller General of the Republic of Panama:

The National Urban CPI in July recorded a monthly variation of 0.1 percent.
The National Urban CPI showed an interanual variation of 1.0 percent.
The National Urban CPI showed a cumulative variation of 1.4 percent.

In July, seven of the twelve groups that make up the IPC basket showed price increases, three groups decreased and two were unchanged. The groups having positive changes and more significantly affecting the CPI were Transport 0.7 percent; Food and non-alcoholic beverages 0.5 percent and restaurants and hotels 0.2 percent.

In June, the CPI showed a variation of 0.43%, placing YoY inflation at 1.02%, well below the 4.59% of a year before.

From a statement issued by the National Institute of Statistics and Census:

In June the group that had the highest positive variation in prices compared to the variation of the general index (0.43%) was Transport. Mainly due to rising gasoline prices, vehicle acquisition and vehicle tires.

Year on Year Inflation Falls in Panama

September 2014

In August the consumer price index recorded an increase of 0.1% compared to the previous month, putting the inter-annual inflation rate at 2.1% up to August.

From a statement issued by the National Institute of Statistics and Census of Panama (INEC):

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August compared with July 2014, registered an increase of 0.1 percent in the National Urban Area and 0.2 percent for the districts of Panama and San Miguelito; while for the Other Urban Areas, it showed a decrease of 0.1 percent.

In August, the consumer price index rose by 0.33%, with food and non-alcoholic drinks, Food and Beverage outside the home and Health being the fastest growing groups.

Inflation Rises in Honduras

August 2014

Annual inflation in July reached 6.59%, with the divisions Food and non-Alcoholic Beverages and Transport having the most significant increases in July.

From a report issued by the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH):

In July 2014, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a monthly rise of 0.76%, bigger than that of July 2013 (0.42%); interannual variation reaching 6.59% and cumulative variation 5.14%.
