Panama: Air Liquide Acquires Cryogas

The french company Air Liquide has acquired Panamanian Cryogas, which supplies medical and industrial gases.

According to a press release from Air Liquide, Cryogas employs more than 80 people at various locations in Panama.

The French corporation acquired all operations and shares in the Panamanian company, marking the beginning of its presence in the country.

Michael Graff, president and CEO of American Air Liquide Holdings Inc, commented that, "emerging economies are key to the growth of Air Liquide... Our innovative products and the demand generated by large-scale infrastructure projects such as the Panama Canal expansion motivated us to look for growth in Latin America".

Excel Automotriz, Central America's leading automobile distributor, has acquired Renault Costa Rica to add to its portfolio of 15 brands in the region.

The deal follows nearly a year of talks between El Salvador-based Excel and Renault Costa Rica's previous owners, Grupo Financiera Automotriz S.A. (FASA).
