Panama: $30 million for Machinery and Roadworks

The Ministry of Public Works plans to invest $30 million in the purchase of new equipment, tools, and road renovation work in the province of Colon.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works:

The investment includes the purchase of new equipment, tools, renovation of production roads and streets as well as in the implementation of the Progam "Trabajando por Tu Barrio" (Working for Your Neighborhood), improving the living conditions of thousands of Colon residents and generating comprehensive development in this important province of the country.

The Regional Director of the MOP, Osvaldo Chavarría, announced that this year for the first time, the MOP will be implementing a strategic road maintenance program "Working for Your Neighborhood" in the province of Colón, where it will be carrying out work in places such as Buena Vista, Cativá, Cristobal, Limon, Nueva Providencia, Nuevo San Juan, Puerto Pilon, Nueva Italia, Sabanitas and Salamanca, in addition to the sector of Chagres in Costa Abajo and El Cruce-Puerto Lindo Cacique, Cacique -Jose Del Mar Road and Puerto Lindo-Ballestilla road in the district of Portobelo, Costa Arriba.

Purchase of Heavy Machinery for $20 million

The Ministry of Transportation in Panama will be investing $20 million in land transport equipment and construction and $9 million in bridge construction and renovation of roads.

From a statement issued by the National Assembly of Panama:

The Budget Committee of the National Assembly has approved the transfer of five items, totaling approximately $35 million to the Ministry of Public Works (MOP).

Panama may invest $350 million in Atlantic Highway

The construction of the highway, baptized by the MOP as the Gran Costanera, would connect the Colon and Bocas del Toro provinces.

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) plans to build a highway connecting the Colon and Bocas del Toro provinces.
The infrastructure, which would be the core communication of the north of the country, would be 230 kilometers long and connect Miguel de la Borda, in Colon, to Rambala, in Bocas del Toro.
