Panama: 10 kilometers of Road to be Tendered

The Ministry of Public Works is planning to tender in November the study, design and construction of a road from Potrerillo Arriba to Palmira Abajo, in Chiriqui.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Public Works:

A new 9.70 kilometer road will be built by the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) to connect the communities of Potrerillo Arriba to Palmira Abajo in the district of Boquete, Chiriqui province.

The MOP is planning to tender at the end of November the project: "Study, design and construction of the road Potrerillo Arriba - Palmira Abajo", where the company which is awarded the work will be responsible for developing and fulfilling all studies, designs, construction plans set out in the Terms of Reference.

The start of the project is located at Centro Básico Félix A. Lara  in the village of Potrerillo and ends at the station 9k + 700 lateral to the Palmira Abajo School.

The tender is to improve terraced rural roads in the departments of Izabal, El Progreso and Santa Rosa.

According to the tender specifications the work covers some 122 kms, distributed as 26.41 km in the department of Santa Rosa, 72.72 km in Izabal and 22.87 km in El Progreso.

The Rural Road Improvement Project Section CA2 (The Coast)-Hato de los Reyes, Zacatecoluca, in the department of La Paz, comprises the paving 8.13 kilometers of road designated as departmental road and classified as rural road, having two lanes of three meters wide each, one in each direction.
