Panama: $32.5 million for Roadworks

The Cabinet Council approved an additional loan for the 2014 budget for road maintenance and renovation.

The Cabinet approved a resolution for expanding the budget line given to the Ministry of Public Works.

From a report by the Cabinet:

"The Cabinet Council approved by Resolution of the Cabinet an additional loan for the State Budget for fiscal year 2014 for the Ministry of Public Works for the sum of 32,510,827 balboas and 69 cents (thirty-two million five hundred ten thousand eight hundred twenty seven dollars and sixty nine cents).

This additional credit is intended to meet the needs for construction supervision and audits, renovations, routine maintenance, institutional strengthening and rural roads.

In Panama a contract has been endorsed with the construction company MECO to renovate a stretch of ten kilometers of the Transístmica highway to integrate the public transport system with the Metro.

The tender documents indicate that the project consists of a length of approximately 10 kilometers, whose studies and designs start at the intersection with Ave.

El Salvador: $30 million for Road Renovation

The Legislature has approved a loan with the Official Credit Institute of Spain for a road improvement program nationwide.

From a statement issued by the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador:

During the plenary session on Thursday, representatives, authorized the Executive Branch in the Field of Finance, to sign a loan agreement in the amount of up to thirty million dollars (US $30,000,000.00), which will be used to implement projects that will improve the conditions of rural road infrastructure nationwide, prioritizing areas that have a the greatest potential for productive development.

Panama: $30 million for Airports

July 2015

Repair of runways at Tocumen airport, improvements at David and purchase of machinery and communications equipment are part of the investments which will be made by Tocumen SA.

The funds will come from a loan approved by the National Economic Council (CENA), aimed at various airport infrastructure works to be managed by Tocumen SA.

Panama: $117 million for Road Works

March 2014

The funds will be used for road widening in the Colon Free Zone and renovation of other routes.

From a statement issued by the National Economic Council of Panama:

"The National Economic Council (CENA) has approved for the Colon Free Zone, an additional loan in the amount of 84 million 22 thousand Balboas for the purpose of adding to their budget and partially funding the expansion work of Avenida Ahmed Waked, Via Randolph and access to the city of Colon in the amount of 75 million and the 9 million 22 thousand balboas will be used to pay off a loan balance product of the Brady Bonds, said the Deputy Minister of Economy Gladys Cedeño.
