Panama: $12 million for Solar Plant

The IIC has approved a loan of up to $11.9 million for the construction of a 10MW solar power plant in the province of Cocle.

From a statement issued by from the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC):

The Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) has approved a loan of up to $11.9 million to Divisa Solar 10MW SA, to finance the construction, development and implementation of a solar photovoltaic power plant with a nominal capacity of 9.9 MWp in Cocle Province, Panama.

The energy generated by the project will be sold on the spot market through the National Dispatch Center.

The total project cost is $17.8 million, which includes the construction of a 2.8 km transmission line to transport the energy to the point of interconnection agreed with EDEMET, one of three electricity distribution companies in Panama .

Panama: 10 MW Solar Plant Connected

The Solar photovoltaic plant located in the province of Cocle has the capacity to generate 9.9 MW.

The photovoltaic project has been built for the EcoSolar investment fund, based in Panama.

Solarcentury is building Divisa Solar, one of the largest solar plants connected to Panama's spot market in the province of Cocle.
