The first tender being held for small generators exceeded industry expectations. Currently the technical bids are being evaluated and it is expected that financial bids will be opened on the 12th of December so that the selected companies can begin providing energy between May 2015 and December 2016.

Interest in Renewable Energy Tender

In El Salvador, at least 16 companies have registered as bidders in the tender for 28 MW of non-conventional renewable energy, for distributed solar generation and generation using biogas.

Without giving more details about the interested companies, it was reported that more than 16 investors have registered as bidders for technical and financial projects for alternative energy generation.

Excess Supply of Luxury Homes

The real estate market in Panama has an excess supply of between 5.000 and 8.000 luxury residences.

This was stated by Wilson Ruiz, from the Panamanian Realtors Association (ACOBIR).

Such properties are located in San Francisco, eastern coast, Balboa Avenue and Bella Vista. They feature between 30 and 700 square meters of constructed space, and are priced above $250.000.
