In Costa Rica, hotels and companies in the sector are preparing themselves with expansions and new services in order to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the new convention center.

The recent inauguration of the new convention center, with 16 thousand square meters and capacity to hold up to 5,600 people at the same time, promises to boost the country's hotel activity, particularly in the Greater Metropolitan Area.
To take advantage of the 60 meetings that have been confirmed up to 2021, which could generate an economic impact of close to $180 million, hotels in the area and tour operatoring companies have dedicated themselves to expanding their facilities and diversifying their services.
"...For example, administrators of the Wyndham Hotel San José Herradura have a project to expand facilities in a total of 400 rooms, which will be executed once the CNCC has been consolidated. The investment could be between $8 and $10 million.For its part, "... Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Airport, carried out remodeling in January of 50% of its executive tower (composed of 17 rooms) and expects to finalize the remaining 50% in the last quarter of 2018."
Elfinancierocr.com reports that "...The companies have also made changes to their operations in order to meet all of the requirements of the MICE segment. One such case is the firm Premio DMC, which created two new business divisions: Premio Meetings (dedicated to the organization of conferences, meetings, events and incentives) and Premio Teambulding (offering options for teamwork programs, as well as corporate social responsibility projects)."
With the aim of promoting the destinations of both countries, businessmen from the hotel sector of Quintana Room, Mexico, seek to create alliances with Guatemalan tour operators.
In Guatemala, a business meeting is held between Guatemalan tourism businessmen and a group of Mexican executives, headed by representatives of the Posadas hotel chain.
An invitation has been extended for industrial companies in the country to attend the Industrial Trade IN 16 to be held from 28th to 29th July at the Convention Center Hotel Wyndham Herradura.

On May 7th and 8th tourism businesses from Costa Rica and the region will be gathering together in San Jose along with wholesalers from other countries to promote their offerings and explore business opportunities.
The 2013 edition of Expotur is to receive 180 representatives from international companies at the Hotel Wyndham San Jose Herradura on the 9th and 10th of May.
