Opportunity for Business Tourism

In Costa Rica, hotels and companies in the sector are preparing themselves with expansions and new services in order to take advantage of the opportunities afforded by the new convention center.

Monday, April 9, 2018

The recent inauguration of the new convention center, with 16 thousand square meters and capacity to hold up to 5,600 people at the same time, promises to boost the country's hotel activity, particularly in the Greater Metropolitan Area.

To take advantage of the 60 meetings that have been confirmed up to 2021, which could generate an economic impact of close to $180 million, hotels in the area and tour operatoring companies have dedicated themselves to expanding their facilities and diversifying their services.

The investment could be between $8 and $10 million. For its part, "... Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Airport, carried out remodeling in January of 50% of its executive tower (composed of 17 rooms) and expects to finalize the remaining 50% in the last quarter of 2018."
