Opportunities in the French Market

Coffee, textiles, clothing accessories and leather are some of the products that have opportunities for being sold in the European country.

In addition to traditional products such as coffee, textiles, leather and accessories, representatives of the Franco-Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce identified opportunities in the French market for other non-traditional export products such as chia. In 2015 the country exported $32 million worth to the European country and imported goods worth $110 million, according to central bank figures.

Laure Vivé, executive secretary of the Franco-Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce told Elnuevodiario.com.ni that "... at the moment some Nicaraguan products are being exported, but "there is still a lot of potential to move forward '.According to Vivé, the main products exported to France today are coffee, lobster and peanut oil. " 

In regards to non - traditional products such as chia, Vivé added that "... 'All of these products are highly sought after in France ... there are a lot of opportunities for export'."

As in other European countries, organic products or those produced using production-friendly standards and sustainable products have a high degree of acceptance in France.

French Trade Mission to Arrive in Nicaragua

On 12 and 13 October, a trade mission comprised of thirty French companies will hold meetings with their regional counterparts.

Organized by the Central American - French Chamber of Commerce (CFCCI) the meeting seeks closer ties between the two countries, both in trade and investment.
