Offers of Heavy Equipment for $29 million

Twelve companies submitted bids in the tender launched by the Directorate General of Public Procurement of Panama for the purchase, maintenance and training for the use of heavy equipment.

The companies that submitted bids are: Coamco, S.A., Cardoze & Lindo, IIASA, F. Icaza y Cía, S.A., Tiesa, AIRCO, S.A. y Construmarket, Comercial de Motores, S.A., Automotora Autostar, S.A., Resansil, Melo and Grupo Tecun. reports that "... A qualified personnel committee will analyze the proposals and make a prequalification list, over a period of seven working days. "

"... In total, the company will buy 185 machines including tractors, shovels, backhoes, bulldozers, pavers, dump trucks, tow trucks and flatbed trailers. "

Panama: Heavy Equipment Tender Questioned

After contracts were awarded to five companies to supply heavy equipment for $23 million, for the second time an appeal for the process to be canceled has been presented.

The adjudication process, carried out for the second time at the request of some of the bidders who objected to the decision of the evaluation committee on the first occasion, has once again been called into question by one of the participating companies.

Panama: Negotiations for Sale of Heavy Equipment Company

The Ecuadorian company Importadora Industrial Agrícola is negotiating the purchase of Cardoze & Lindo, Panama's leading provider of heavy equipment to the construction sector.

The general manager of Cardoze & Lindo, Jorge Cardozo, told that negotiations for the sale of shares by the distributor of the Caterpillar brand in Panama, could be finalized by the end of September.
