Obama Meets With Businessmen Interested in Central America

In preparation for his visit to the region, the U.S. president is meeting with business leaders who have a "significant presence" in Mexico and Central America.

Friday, April 26, 2013

According to the White House, the goal is to talk with employers, before his trip to the region next week, about "opportunities to expand U.S. trade with Mexico and Central America", with the goal of creating jobs and "reducing barriers to growth" in the region.

Some of the people who will be present at the meeting with President Obama include the president of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno, and Manuel Medina-Mora, co-president of Citigroup, on which the Mexican financial group Banamex depends.

Also participating are John Bilbrey, CEO of Hershey, Andrew Gluski, president and CEO of AES Corporation and Robert A. McDonald, CEO of Procter & Gamble.
