New Bank Operating in Guatemala

The company Financiera de Inversión has received authorization to start operating as a private bank in the country.

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

With capital of $15 million, the company which has so far only operated in the financial segment will start providing banking services under the brand Banco INV, and will be subject to the regulation required of participants of the banking system.

Luis Pedro Chavez, general manager of the company, said in an article on Elperiodico.com.gt that "...'Mainly we want to provide financing to companies and people who are interested in expanding services such as factoring, financial leasing, leasing or financing for the acquisition of credit cards or consumer finance, even mortgages'."

"The company has made the leap into banking after 35 years of experience in the domestic market through Financiera de Inversión (FINSA). This, according to Chavez gives them a portfolio of customers who are accustomed to personalized service and hold it in high esteem. This one to one attention is possible because of the scale of the business, which is a strength according to Chavez. "
