Nicaragua - El Salvador Business Tourism

On June 29, Nicaraguan entrepreneurs will be visiting San Salvador to meet with travel agencies and tour operators in order to explore business opportunities.

The objective of the Nicaraguan Tourist Entrepreneurs Projection (Preturnic), which is organizing the activity, is to improve the promotion of Nicaragua as a tourist destination in the neighboring country, and generate alliances with travel agencies, car rental companies and hotels, among others.

See "Nicaragua: What and how much of tourism in 2016" reports that "...Preturnic is made up of tour operators, hotels and car rental agencies that operate mainly in the departments of Managua, Leon, Granada and Rivas, which work together with allied companies giving a boost to the national tourism supply, said Frank Vado Tenorio, president of the organization."

He added that "... 'The workshops are work tables that allow companies to have a direct contact with the tour operators of the countries we visit.  There information is exchanged, travel packages and offers are made to encourage tourism to Nicaragua. We also present a video of the destinations that are being promoted in the event'."

Spanish Companies Looking for Business in Nicaragua

A delegation of tourism entrepreneurs led by the owner of Air Europa are in Managua to explore business opportunities with the government and local companies.

The entrepreneurs who make up the group represent companies linked to the tourism sector, such as the airline Air Europa, tour operators and others. Representatives from the government explained to that the businessmen "... are going to meet with the Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism, aeronautical authorities and ProNicaragua."

Over thirty wholesale companies from the United States will participate in business roundtables with local operators on October 23rd and 24th in the capital.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism of El Salvador (MITUR):

Over 30 wholesalers from the United States, will be in the country for the second edition of the El Salvador Travel Market 2014 (ESTM2014), which starts on Thursday 23 October and which includes business meetings in a hotel in the capital.

MITM Americas, Meetings and Incentive Travel Market

From 5 to 7 December 2012 the 18th interactive edition of the fair will take place in Panama in which tour operators from Central American and the Caribbean meet with buyers from Europe and the U.S.

MITM is a two-day interactive exhibition of, which is now 15 years old, providing market-oriented incentives, meetings and events, where tourism companies and travel agencies from the Americas and the Caribbean meet, in the form of pre-arranged individual appointments, with buyers from Europe and the U.S. to organize and set up incentives trips, meetings, conferences, congresses and events. Buyers are invited to participate in MITM after a rigorous selection process.

Tourism industry representatives are participating in the Annual Meeting of the United States Association of Tour Operators, known by the acronym USTOA.

A press release from the newspaper "El Pueblo Presidente" reads:

The CEO of INTUR, Architect Mario Salinas Pasos, is heading a delegation that is participating in North America in the Annual Meeting of the United States Association of Tour Operators known by the acronym USTOA.
