Nicaragua: $ 8 Million for Ometepe Airport

The new international terminal will be built on fifteen blocks in the community of Las Palomas.

Orlando Guerrero Castillo, general manager of Enterprise International Airports (EAAI), told El Nuevo Diario, “The terminal will be 1,500 long by 30 meter wide and should be ready by the end of 2011.”

Investment in the first stage of construction is expected to be $ 8 million.

According to Guerrero Castillo, “the first stage will cost eight million dollars and the building will generate 300 direct jobs and 5,000 indirect jobs, there is great satisfaction among people of the population of the Island Ometepe he said, after stating the airport will have significant impact on social and economic life at the island.”
