Nicaragua Textile Industry Slowly Recovering

In February, Nicaragua’s textile industry exported 1.3% more than the same period of 2009.

Data from Anitec, the Nicaraguan Textile Association, showw that in February 2010 the sector exported $130.4 million, a little more than February 2009, when it sold $128.7 million.

However, the rate of growth has slowed down. In January 2010, exports increased 7.1% when compared to the same month of 2009. Additionally, when comparing exported volume, the balance is still negative, -1.1% in January and -2% in February.
