Nicaragua: Slight Recovery in Textile Exports

The aggregate for April shows a reduction of 14.3%, compared to the 15.1% aggregate from March, in relation to the same periods in 2008.

According to data from the Nicaraguan Association of the Textile and Confection Industry (Anitec), there has been improvement with respect to January, when the reduction was 22%.

Gisella Canales Ewest in her article for, interviews Dean García, the director of Antic, regarding monthly exports: “We already see that there is a slight recovery in exports because we exported $68 million in March and in April we have reported $72 million in exports.”

El Salvador: Textile Exports Decline

July 2017

The Textile Industry Association reported a reduction of almost $17 million in value exported in the first quarter of the year, compared to the same period in the previous year.

Figures from the Chamber of Textile, Apparel and Free Trade Zones (Camtex) indicate that exports from January to April totaled $816 million, down from $833 million exported in the same period in 2016.

Slight Improvement for Nicaragua Textile Exports

In the first quarter of 2010 the country exported 11.75% more textile goods than in the same period of 2009.

Data from the Nicaraguan Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Anitec) shows that $197.4 million were exported in the first three months of 2009, increasing to $220.6 million in 2010.
