Nicaragua Launches Tourism Campaign

The Institute of Tourism (Intur) and the Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) will launch a plan directed primarily at the markets of United States, Mexico and Central America.

Elnuevodiario.com.ni publishes: "The Nicaraguan Institute of Tourism (Intur) and the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur) discussed a joint strategy to brand Nicaragua as tourist destination of excellence, for which, Canatur proposes to focus on a publicity campaign that includes attraction packages promoted by tour operators."

Costa Rica Wants to Attract European Tourists

On 13 May, Costa Rican businessmen will meet at a business forum in which they will study strategies to position Costa Rica as a destination for the European market.

The European region represents one of the main markets for attracting tourists to Costa Rica, which, according to figures from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), received 284,996 visitors from Europe, which means about 12% of total reported income in 2012.

$5 million to Promote Tourism in Guatemala

Following an advertising campaign there is an expected increase of up to 30% in tourist arrivals to Guatemala.

Jorge Samayoa, director of the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism said the publicity has been widespread in Mexico, the United States, Central America and several European countries.
