Nicaragua: International Airport in Tola

The Pellas Group has submitted environmental studies for the construction of an international airport in the tourist area of ​​Tola, with an estimated cost of $7 million.

Corporación del Sur S.A., a subsidiary of Pellas Development Group, has started the process of applying for a permit for the construction of an international airport in Tola. The estimated investment for this new project is $7.1 million, although it is not known when construction would start.

"The Project for the Costa Smeralda Private Airport includes a runway with an area 1525 meters long by 30 wide, and a terminal where ATR- 42 aircraft can land carrying 40 or 50 passenger and also jet aircraft with up to 14 passengers".

The new terminal to be built in Costa Esmeralda, will receive international flights, especially from the U.S. "The building will have an area for disembarking from the plane, sanitation, rest area for pilots, baggage handling office, a control tower and fuel tank."
