The Guacalito Tourism Project, which is being developed by the Pellas Group on Nicaragua’s Pacific beaches will be inaugurated at the end of next year, company representatives announced.

The construction of the project is progressing steadily, and so far over a thousand people have been employed, but it is estimated that this figure will increase as work progresses and operations start.

An article in Laprensa.com.ni notes: "Guacalito Island will span 1,600 acres (about 6.5 square kilometers) and cover Guacalito and Manzanillo beaches. They are currently building the first phase of the project, which includes a boutique hotel and residential areas. It also has a golf course.

During the first phase of the project investment is estimated to be about $115 million, but the total investment will be about $250 million. "
