Nicaragua: Forecasts for Gold Production

Next year the B2Gold mining company plans to produce around 118 thousand ounces of gold in the Tope and San Juan project, in the municipality of La Libertad.

Tuesday, December 19, 2017

Authorities at the mining company explained that in 2017 production was lower because they had not obtained all of the permits, but now, with the approval of the environmental impact studies, B2Gold plans to increase activities and consequently the extraction of gold.

Raúl Antonio Novoa Marín, head of community relations at B2Gold in La Libertad, told Elnuevodiario.com.ni that "... "In this year 2017, we had lower production, due to the permitting processes, which is specific to the mining industry. However, with the support of the residents of La Libertad and Santo Domingo, we managed to gain approval of environmental impact studies for Tope and San Juan'. "

"... Currently, the mining company is preparing the ground to operate in the San Juan and Tope projects, in the municipality of La Libertad, to start operations in 2018. With the Antena de Santo Domingo project, the company intends to complete the permitting process next year."
