Nicaragua Creates Barriers to Honduran Imports

Honduran cargo carriers have denounced impediments created by Nicaraguan officials that are preventing the entry of merchandise.

This comes after demonstrations on the Panamerican highway by the “No Pago” (Non-Payment) movement, which have caused tailbacks and left vehicles stranded in northern Nicaragua.

According to an article in Elheraldo.hn review, "The carriers have filed an appeal before the Nicaraguan Supreme Court of, but have not yet received any notification about it, they are asking the Honduran authorities to apply "reciprocity" to Nicaraguan trade, as leverage to counter regulation."

Now they are trying to talk to the Honduran authorities to reach an agreement that will allow the normal influx of exports from Honduras to Nicaragua.
