Nicaragua: Cemex Confirms Investment in New Plant

More than $50 million will be invested in the construction of the new grinding plant which will increase cement production capacity in 2017 to reach 860,000 tons a year.

CEMEX announces new CLH grinding plant in Nicaragua

Monterrey, Mexico. May 5, 2014

- CLH to invest approximately $ 55 million
- Production capacity to reach 860 thousand tons of cement in 2017

CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. ("CEMEX") (NYSE: CX) announced today that its subsidiary CEMEX Latam Holdings, SA ("CLH") (BVC: CLH) will build a new cement grinding plant in Ciudad Sandino, Managua, which is expected to increase its cement production capacity in Nicaragua by approximately 104%.

Nicaragua: New Cassava Starch Processing Plant

March 2017

A cassava starch processing plant has been opened at kilometer 78 of the Managua-Leon highway, with capacity to process 15 thousand tons of starch a year.

The company cassava starch invested $7 million in construction of the plant, which has capacity to process 15 thousand tons of starch per year and which will export starch powder aside from processing cassava industrially.

More Cemex Investments Near Grand Canal

The cement company has announced it will be investing $35 million over three years to increase the production capacity by 25% at the plant it operates in Costa Rica, near the border with Nicaragua.

MONTERREY, MEXICO - CEMEX, SAB de CV ("CEMEX") (BMV: CEMEXCPO) announced today that its subsidiary CEMEX Latam Holdings, SA ("CLH") (BVC: CLH) initiated a project to increase cement production capacity of its plant in Colorado, Costa Rica, by approximately 25% in order to reach an annual capacity of 1.1 million tonnes in 2017.

Honduras: New Rice Processing Plant

September 2011

The company Industrias Molineras Sociedad Anónima (IMSA), has opened its new plant capable of processing 1400 quintals a day.

The new campus includes facilities for weighing, receiving, cleaning, drying and storing rice.

"... The milling and machinery plant, has a capacity of 132 metric tons, equivalent to a daily production of 1,400 quintals of classified white rice, to be distributed to the public through its 12,000 permanent customers", reported article.

Guatemala: Investment in Diaper Production Plant

May 2011

The Colombian group Paperla Internacional S.A. will build a diaper factory in the department of Zacapa.

The new factory, with a production capacity of about 2 million diapers a month, begin operations in about three months.

Without giving details of the investment amount, Eduardo Font, general manager of the company, said the new plant will generate good job opportunities for residents.
