Nicaragua: $7 Million for Airport

The new airport will be built near the San Juan River by the border with Costa Rica.

The announcement was given by Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega, who added that 22 companies are participating in the tender. Work is scheduled to begin in September and continue until May 2011.

"The aiport terminal forms part of an integrated development plan in the region near the border with Costa Rica, 300km south of the capital Managua," reports Prensalibre.com.

The runway will be 200 meters long and 23 meters wide.

Consultancy on Costa Rican Airport

Costa Rica: New Liberia Airport in November

Work on the new Daniel Oduber International Airport in the Guanacaste Province will be completed in November 2011.

The new 23.000 square meter, two-story terminal is being built in an area of 72.500 square meters since October 2010. It features four bridges and three boarding outposts.

New Airport For Nicaragua

It will require an investment of $7 million, and will be located in the southern Caribbean coast, close to Costa Rica.

Operations are scheduled to start in 2011, serving local flights as well as connections to Colombia, Costa Rica and Panamá.
