Nicaragua: $238 million for Roads

With a loan from the BCIE, the improvement and renovation of 195 kilometers of roads in different areas of the country will be financed.

The project involves the paving of 194.39 kilometers, divided into six road sections with different asphalt pavement structures, hydraulic concrete and concrete paving slabs.

From a statement issued by the CABEI:

Managua, February 22, 2018.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) and the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua today signed a loan agreement for US $238.0 million, to finance the "VII Program for the Improvement and Renovation of Highways" .

The loan consists of paving 194.39 kilometers, divided into six stretches of road with different asphalt pavement structures, hydraulic concrete and concrete paving slab.  This investment will strengthen Central American trade and integration.

Nicaragua: Financing for Road Works

The Ortega administration has announced that with a loan of $238 million from the BCIE, some 194 kilometers of road sections will be renovated in different areas of the country.

From a statement issued by the National Assembly of Panama:

The National Assembly unanimously approved this August 23, a loan issued by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), to partially finance the implementation of a project to improve the road Muy Muy- Matiguás- Rio Blanco, in the department of Matagalpa.

Nicaragua: $65 million Road Announced

August 2016

The Ortega administration has announced that using financing from the CABEI a 52 kilometer hydraulic concrete highway will be built from Laguna de Perlas and Kukra Hill, in the Caribbean.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) will be for $65 million and will be used for construction of the road. 

Nicaragua: $38 million for Road Infrastructure

November 2012

Congress has approved a loan to finance the rehabilitation and improvement of the section of road from Empalme Nejapa to Empalme Puerto Sandino.

A press release of the National Assembly of Nicaragua reads:

The National Assembly approved on November 14, a loan to finance the renovation and improvement of the road section Nejapa-Splice Splice Puerto Sandino.
