Nicaragua: $15 Million for Agriculture

The Assembly approved a loan from the CABEI to partially finance the implementation of a sustainable development project in the Dry Corridor areas of Nicaragua.

From a statement issued by from the National Assembly:

On 16 August, the National Assembly approved a loan agreement signed between the Government of Nicaragua and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), in the amount of US $15 million, to partially finance implementation of a sustainable development project in the areas of the Dry Corridor of Nicaragua.

The project, called Nica Vida, aims to improve nutritional quality for families, increase their economic income and strengthen this population's capacities to adapt to climate change, including the indigenous peoples of the area. Approval was granted with 90 votes in favor of the loan decree, zero against, zero abstentions and one present.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration signed two loans that will be used to finance road works and works to improve water and sanitation systems.

The first is a loan of up to Ch$333,874,540 million to finance the "VIII Road Improvement and Expansion Program". And the second one for $251,470,000 million for the "Program for the Improvement of Potable Water and Sanitation Systems in 7 cities," informed the CABEI.

Nicaragua: $58 million to Build Road

With the BCIE loan recently approved by Congress a stretch of 58 kilometers of the highway linking the Caribbean to downtown areas and the Pacific coast will be renovated.

The National Assembly unanimously approved this August 23, a loan issued by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), to partially finance the implementation of a project to improve the road Muy Muy- Matiguás- Rio Blanco, in the department of Matagalpa.

Loans for Infrastructure in El Salvador

October 2012

The CABEI has approved loans for infrastructure work in ports and airports, and construction of prisons amounting to $92 million and $71 million respectively.

A statement from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) reads:

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has approved funding for the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA in Spanish) of the Republic of El Salvador for an amount of up to U.S. $92 million to partially finance the "Program for Development and Sustainability of Air and Sea Ports ".
