New source of financial and monetary information

Managed by CABI and financed by the Soros Foundation, the Mirador Monetario will contribute to transparency in the Financial System of Guatemala.

Managed by Central American Business Intelligence, the mission of the Mirador Monetario is "to be the leading source of information and education regarding financial monetary matters and to expand to the rest of countries in CA."

Mission and Objectives:
The Monitor called Mirador Monetario will have the following slogan, "Maintaining Monetary Policy", which defines it as a permanent movement.
The Mirador Monetario is the result of Phase II of the "Transparency in the Guatemalan Banking System" project, the purpose of which is to seek changes regarding information, transparency in the decision of the Monetary Board and the Bank of Guatemala, which can help to meet inflation goals and to reduce the effects of inflation on the populace.

The MM plans to generate material for the defense of citizens, specifically in regards to economic and financial matters.

Former Presidents of the Central Bank of Costa Rica have criticized the bill which sets two equal objectives for the institution: inflation control and boosting production.

They agree that the Central Bank has shown that it does, but remain unconvinced that an expansionary monetary policy can be implemented to boost production indefinitely.
