New Traffic Lights in San Pedro Sula

The mayor of San Pedro Sula is preparing a request for proposal in order to tender the installation of centralized intelligent traffic lights.

The municipality of San Pedro Sula now has the backing to tender to supply and install of a traffic light system, for which it has a budget of $3.5 million. 

In order to gain authorization from the city council, Mayor Armando Calidonio told Latribuna.hn that "... most of the traffic lights are outdated and have been virtually rebuilt and use different pieces of equipment and brands, so it is very difficult manage buying spare parts. 'You never know which piece is bad, which is why we are introducing the motion for the start of a development project which we hope to have ready as soon as possible'. "
