The maintenance service through mobile service stations is one of the trends that is taking hold in Costa Rica, as the country's road conditions make it increasingly difficult for customers to move their vehicles to a service station.
It is estimated that in the Costa Rican market, at least 24 mobile units provide the service of preventive maintenance of vehicles.
Ana Lucrecia Vargas, Danissa's marketing director, told Elfinancierocr.com that "... The services have been very successful and in high demand. Precisely the use of mobile units and digital development through web site, e-commerce and apps of each brand, allows us to be close to our customers when they need it."
Other companies have confirmed that they plan to increase their number of mobile service stations. Ernesto Rodriguez, general manager of Grupo Automotriz, said that they are "... valuing including a mobile unit in the short term because our consumers are happy with this type of personalized service."
To maintain customer loyalty, vehicle dealerships have opted to improve the quick service system, provide payment facilities and enable more service points in strategic areas.
According to figures from CentralAmericaData, at a regional level there are approximately 15,000 establishments dedicated to providing repair services, car maintenance and sale of auto parts and spare parts. Almost 31% is concentrated in Costa Rica, followed by Guatemala, where it is around 20%.
Excel Automotriz opened a new service center of 2 thousand square meters, at kilometer 126.5 of the highway to the Atlantic in Rio Hondo, Zacapa.
Company executives informed that in the new service center there will be maintenance and repair of vehicles, and also sell different types of spare parts.
Investing in and maintaining an in-company workshop is expensive, but when the fleet size is large, the reduction in maintenance and repair costs can justify it.
This is the experience of Coca Cola Femsa in Costa Rica, which is performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and technical reviews of the 450 vehicles in its fleet in its own automotive workshop.
The Excel Automotive car dealership opened its new headquarters in the Department of Sonsonate.
The new complex offers integrated services which include sales of new vehicles, maintenance and part sales.
Andres Poma, National Manager of Excel Automotive, told Laprensagrafica.com, "The complex is located one block from the railway monument and has a total area of 2.520 m² of which 548 m² are workshop services.
