New Stock Exchange Post Seeks to Operate in Costa Rica

The National Stock Exchange received a request for authorization of a new stock exchange post, which would be called Iberoamérica Capital, Puesto de Bolsa.

In a press release on 6 March, the National Stock Exchange explained that in the coming "... 10 working days, counting from the working day following this statement, any observation on the managers, shareholders, administrators or legal representatives that could evidence the non-fulfillment of the requirements of honorability established by the regulations can be received."

The official document details that the manager of this file is Julia del Carmen González Chue, whose participation in Iberoamérica Capital, Puesto de Bolsa S.A. will be "... 9,900,000 common and registered shares of 30 colons each, for a total of ¢297,000,000, representing 99% of the capital stock."

The press release adds that the "... share participation of María Cecilia Moreira Salas, will be 100,000 common and nominative shares of 30 colones each, for a total of ¢3,000,000, which represents 1% of the capital stock."

Investments in Stock Market Up 11%

In Panama, the portfolio managed by brokerage firms totaled $35,577 million at the end of the first half of the year, 11% more than was registered in the same period in 2017.

Costa Rica: Panamanians Open Brokerage Firm

Prival Group has asked the National Stock Exchange to authorize brokerage activities in the local market under the name of Prival Securities Puesto de Bolsa.

The National Stock Exchange (BNV by its initials in Spanish) now has a period of 10 working days to evaluate the application made by the Panamanian financial group, which recently entered the country after acquiring the bank Bansol which was founded on Costa Rican capital.

Nicaragua: Stock Market Trading Down 29%

During the first three months of the year $263 million were traded in the stock market, 29.3% less than the amount traded in the same period last year.

So far this year, of the total trading volume, 85% was public sector emissions and 14.7% was securities issued by the private sector.
