New Markets for Honduran Banana

Asian countries have shown interest in importing Honduran bananas.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Arturo Castillo, director of the Association of Independent Banana, said that the problems facing Costa Rica, Ecuador and Colombia in export to these markets are benefiting the national banana.

"Even in Ecuador there is interest in buying fruit because their production became tremendously more expensive, aggravated by the fact that it costs them $ 1.60 per box each time they pass the Canal" added Castillo to La Tribuna.
