New Investments in Construction

The expansion of a road in Panama, the construction of a tourist center in Costa Rica and an office-warehouse complex in Guatemala are part of the projects planned for the coming months in the region.

The interactive system "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Trade Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes an up to date list of public and private construction projects that are expected to be built in the coming months.

Detail of some of the Environmental Impact Studies presented recently:

The Ministry of Public Works of Panama submitted the EIA to build the six-lane extension of the Beaches Corridor Section 1, which runs from La Chorrera to Santa Cruz. According to the document for this work, approximately $543 million will be invested.

Fincas y Construcciones, S.A. plans to build in Zone 16 of Guatemala City, an office-warehouse complex composed of four buildings that will house 85 warehouses, 99 offices and 419 parking lots. The project called "W2 Buildings" will require about $15 million in investment.

In Costa Rica the company Construcciones y Remodelaciones La Escarcha S.A. plans to build in the district of Limón, in the province of the same name, a tourist complex that will be composed of two buildings of five floors each, which will be used as a hotel. According to the EIA of the project called "Beito Place Tourist Complex", it will have a swimming pool, sports courts, reception area, among other amenities, and it is expected to invest close to $12 million.
