New Investment in Restaurants

In Guatemala, U.S. chain Denny's invested $2 million to open its second restaurant in a shopping mall in the municipality of Mixco.

The restaurant chain, managed by the company of Honduran Origin Specialized Foods, began operations in the country at the end of 2017, with the opening of a store with capacity for 185 people in Zone 9 of Guatemala City.

Representatives of the chain informed that the second restaurant will be in Plaza Madero Roosevelt and will have a capacity for 190 people. The start of operations is scheduled for June 10.

Gissel Ordóñez, marketing manager at Denny's, explained to Prensalibre.com that "... It's been a pretty rapid growth in, practically the entire region, we' re coming from Honduras where we have about six restaurants. Today, in Guatemala, we are having the second restaurant that will be open from Monday at 6 a.m.'"

In relation to the chain's expectations, the article states that "... in five years, they have the goal of opening more branches, for example, in Carretera a El Salvador...".

According to studies by CentralAmericaData, in Guatemala the population with the highest average income shows interest in German, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern and Japanese cuisine.

Another Fast Food Chain Comes to Costa Rica

The restaurant chain Chili's will open its first store in the new food court at Multiplaza Escazú next week.

With an investment of $2 million, the first restaurant measuring 500 square meters, will seat about 230 people, said Andres Gomez, general manager of CRB restaurants, the owners of the franchise.
