New Flight Between U.S. and Costa Rica

American Airlines will add a daily flight connecting the U.S. city of Dallas with San Jose and Liberia in Costa Rica beginning on December 18.

The new flight has as particularity its night schedule, as they will leave Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) late at night and return to that city leaving San Jose and Liberia in early morning flights, known as red-eye, in an aircraft B737-800, with 16 seats in First Class, 30 seats in Main Cabin Extra with additional space, and 126 seats in Economy Class, informed an official source in Costa Rica.

The American Airlines will add a second daily flight from its hub airport in Dallas, Texas to two destinations from December 18: Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose and Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste.

These additional flights have as particularity their night schedule, since they will leave Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) late at night and will return to that city leaving San Jose and Liberia in early morning flights, known as red-eye, in an aircraft B737-800, with 16 seats in First Class, 30 seats in Main Cabin Extra with additional space, and 126 seats in Economy Class.

"These new services between Dallas/Fort Worth and San Jose and Liberia Guanacaste are a sign of our strong commitment to Costa Rica," said Rafael Sanchez, American's regional manager for Central America. "Costa Rica was the first country in Central America where American began operating almost 30 years ago, and today our presence is stronger than ever and we continue to grow.”

New Low-Cost Flight: Dallas - Liberia

The low-cost airline Sun Country announced that between June and August 2020 it will operate a weekly flight between the U.S. city of Dallas and the province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica.

The operation will begin on Saturday 13 June and end on Saturday 15 August. The flight will depart at 8 a.m. from Dallas Fort Worth Airport and arrive at Daniel Oduber Quirós at 11:05 a.m.

On November 21, American Airlines will begin operating a new flight between San Jose and New York, and in December another flight between Liberia and that American city will begin.

More flights to Honduras and the U.S.

October 2018

American Airlines plans to begin operating flights from the Honduran cities of San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa to Dallas in the United States in June 2019.

The airline has announced that next year it will begin operating four flights a week between the Dallas International Airport, Fort Worth and San Pedro Sula, and from the same U.S. air terminal in Tegucigalpa, three times a week.

Nonstop Dallas-Roatan Flight

August 2013

As of November 23, American Airlines will offer a direct flight on Saturdays between Dallas International Airport and Roatan.

In addition, the airline announced it will increase the Miami-Roatan frequency to three flight per week, also in November. These new flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
