New Dominican Republic - Florida Flight

Starting this week Jet Blue began operating a daily flight between the Dominican city of Santiago and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States.

The airline reported that " ... JetBlue will operate its flights between Fort Lauderdale and Santiago using its 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. "

From a statement issued by Jet Blue:

The new route, from Santiago to Fort Lauderdale, will allow Dominicans greater access not only to South Florida, but also to other cities that JetBlue serves from Fort Lauderdale.  

Through the service expansion, the City of 30 Knights will be connected to four locations that the company is focusing on, such as New York, Boston, San Juan, Puerto Rico and now Fort Lauderdale. It also offers a daily service between Santiago - Newark, New Jersey.

"This expansion in the JetBlue service highlights our commitment to the Dominican community, offering greater access to our award-winning service, for which JetBlue is recognized, competitive rates and even more flight options between the Dominican Republic and the US", explained JetBlue's director of International Trade and Airports, Giselle Cortes.

The inaugural flight left on Sunday, November 5 at 11:30 hrs. from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and arrived at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José, Costa Rica, at 1:30 p.m. The new route will offer a daily flight. 

Daily Flights From Fort Lauderdale to San Jose

The low-cost airline JetBlue has announced that from June 2013 it will operate daily flights between Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdale and Juan Santamaria in Costa Rica.

At a press conference in Costa Rica, Jeff Goodell, Vice President for Government Affairs at JetBlue, said: "As the community of Costa Rica has found out JetBlue, offering legroom, movies on the back of every seat, free snacks and drinks, and a high level of service, we have been able to grow and continue our strong track record in the country. Due to this fact, we are proud to add the third route of JetBlue in Costa Rica. "
