New Car Sales in El Salvador Up 55%

Car sales during the first two months of 2011 reported a 55% increase over the same period of 2010.

After a year in 2009 in which total sales amounted to 6.839 units, recovery started in 2010, totaling 7.263 units.

Representatives from import companies expect growth to continue during 2011.

Roberto A. Diaz, brand manager for Grupo Q El Salvador, "... believes there are internal and external factors still affecting the market such as rising fuel prices, unfavorable local credit conditions, high registration tax and other factors depressing the market," reported Elsalvador.com.
