Central American Market Increases
Between January and September 2017 and the same period in 2018, the value imported into the region increased by 4%, from $290 million to $301 million.

For the periods concerned, purchases from companies in China and India increased by 2% and 16%, respectively.

Guatemala, main importer
From January to September 2018, the main importer in the region continued to be Guatemala with $128 million, followed by Honduras with $66 million, Costa Rica with $38 million, El Salvador with $35 million, Nicaragua with $30 million and Panama with $6 million.

Main suppliers
In the first nine months of last year, 53% of the value imported from Central America was from China, 29% from India, 3% from the U.S., 2% from Japan and 1% from Brazil.
