Motorcycle Fleet Figures in Mexico

More than four million motorcycles are in circulation throughout the North American country, of which 45% are in the states of Mexico, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacan and Quintana Roo.

Data from the report "Vehicle Fleet in Mexico 2018" compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, provides details on the characteristics of the different vehicles that transit the streets of Central American countries.

By brand at national level
According to Mexican vehicle fleet records, of the total number of motorcycles circulating throughout the country, approximately 76% correspond to the brands Italika, Honda and Yamaha.

Data detail up to the 4th quarter of 2018, that about 12% of total units correspond to the brands Vento, Bajaj, Kurazai, Dinamo, Treck Motors and TVS.

Per cylinder at national level
It is reported that 56% of the units report a displacement between 125 cc and 150 cc. According to records, about 19% are concentrated in 110 cc, 200 cc, 250 cc and 180 cc.

Location by region
Regarding the location of motorcycles, the information system details that 15% of the units are in the southeast region, which is formed by the states of Tabasco, Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatan.

The central states of the country comprising Morelos, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas and Querétaro, concentrate about 40% of the motorcycles that circulate nationally.

In the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa and Sonora, about 5% of the motorcycles circulating in the country are concentrated.
