More Seasonal Flights Between Costa Rica and the US

During the months of January and February 2019 United Airlines will fly daily from Chicago to San Jose, and Alaska Airlines will fly from Los Angeles, during the entire peak season.

A statement from the ICT details that "... There will be approximately 15,000 additional seats in the first quarter of 2019 for the United States."

The Alaska Airlines itinerary "... will operate from November 15 to November 26, 2018 and from December 16, 2018 to January 6, 2019, to the two international airports in Costa Rica: Daniel Oduber Quirós in Liberia and Juan Santamaría in Alajuela."

In the case of United Airlines, in addition to the increased frequency of the Chicago-San Jose flight, "... the airline will maintain its flights from the Daniel Oduber International Airport to the United States, and the Houston-Liberia route in January 2019, going out twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays."

The increase in air traffic at Daniel Oduber airport in Liberia is mainly due to the expansion in infrastructure made in 2012, which increased the capacity for new airlines and because of this also attracted more passengers.
