More Investments in Free Trade Zones Authorized

In the Dominican Republic, five new companies have approved permits to operate in free trade zones, which together will make an investment of close to $16 million.

Among the activities of approved companies are: manufacture of doors, windows and boxes, international call center services, and textile manufacturing, reported the National Council of Export Processing Zones (CNZFE).

The official statement explains that "... These companies, which will generate about 1,900 direct jobs, will be in the provinces of San Cristobal, San Francisco de Macoris and Santo Domingo.

In the meeting of the Board of Directors, held on Wednesday 4 of this month, it was announced that during 2019 have been approved the installation permits of 57 companies in free trade zones, which project to generate more than 8,700 direct jobs, which implies a positive economic and social impact, for the development of the country's economy.
