As of October 27, 2020, Lufthansa will begin operating a third weekly frequency between the German city and the capital of Costa Rica.

Thus, the airline, which currently offers two flights per week on Thursdays and Saturdays, will also fly on Tuesdays round trip between the German destination and San Jose, Costa Rica, reported the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT).
Flights to San Jose will be made on an Airbus A340-300 with 279 seats departing at 13:30 from Frankfurt and arriving at Juan Santamaria International Airport at 19:10. To Frankfurt the flight takes off at 20:55 arriving in Germany at 15:00, explains the statement of the ICT.
The official document states that "... In 2019 the international arrivals of Germans to Costa Rica by air grew 10.3%. In total, 80,580 tourists arrived from Germany. The stay of Germans in the country is estimated at 16.7 nights. Regarding spending, on average a German tourist spends $143.16 per day. Sun and beach, trekking, observation of flora and fauna and visits to the volcanoes are four of the preferred activities for these tourists when they visit Costa Rica."

As of October 2020, the route between the German city and Costa Rica, operated by the Condor airline, will abolish its current stopover in Santo Domingo.
The route will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays in a Boeing 767-300 with capacity for 255 passengers (18 in Business class, 35 Premium and 202 Economic) and will adjust its schedule, informed the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).
Four months after the scheduled date, the German airline Lufthansa has made the first of five flights a week which it will operate from the airport of Tocumen.

Lufthansa commenced its new non-stop service between Frankfurt and Panama City today.
The airline Condor has increased to three the number of weekly flights it makes between Frankfurt and San Jose.

Growing demand from the European market has led to the German airline Condor to strengthen its commitment to our destination by adding a third weekly (Tuesdays) flight in its Frankfurt, Germany - San Jose, Costa Rica route.
